Oh yea, other teams

So living in Chicago, I can't help but catch the buzz about the round two start to the NHL playoffs tonight at 8 between the Hawks and the Canucks.
I wish them well, I would like the team of the city I live in to do well, even though I claim to hate them most of the year (to rile up my native Chicagoan friends).
Anyone who takes down Roberto Luango, is a friend in my book. that fool is straight rediculous.
So good luck to the hawks tonight, maybe their series will be as much of an emotional roller coaster as the blues series was....oh but with a Canadian team out in the end. sigh.

And I still think professional basket ball is dumb, but I guess go Bulls. They might just push their series with the Celtics to game 7. My friend is at the game downtown now... apparently I should be jealous. Maybe NBA ball is passable in playoff season. eh, not really interested enough to watch and see.

And on the upside, the Cubs are sucking it hard already...makes my day :)

bleed blue

The blues best be in the playoffs again in 2 years when I will be living back in STL. that way when my dad scores playoff tickets I will be able to capitalize on them!!!! Instead my little brother gets to go, punk. But it is good. I think I helped get him into hockey because he always thought I was kind of nuts about it...haha. now he's all into it and calls me about it. good bonding.
This 2nd game I missed most of due to work...I heard the 1st period was amazing and held scoreless. I just watched us give up our 2nd goal though. Mason couldn't get around fast enough. Oy. and a score on the open net....Arg.
well hopefully home rink advantage will calm our frustrations and swing the series the other way. GO BLUES.

Only the beginning

So while the blues took a hard first game of the first round loss tonight, they were able to hold the Canucks pretty well. I was sure watching the beginning of the second period that we were just getting frustrated and the Vancouver team would increase the lead. As luck would have it, I left the streaming live video of the game online to continue watching it at a bar- and my little brother texted me in triumph over Boyes' goal. Maybe I should stop watching the games? I feel a like I may be jinxing them, and that my rooting power is better focused when I visualize the game and the players. haha, I don't know about giving up playoff hockey though.
It was only the beginning, game one of the seven game series, so rally your troops. support the Blues, enjoy the games, and check out Show Me Lakes! A site created by a man of genius. :)

Lake Party!!!

Perfect timing for a celebratory party at your favorite lake in Missouri, because the St. Louis Blues have made the PLAYOFFS!!!!! First time in 5 years, and with studs like Backes and Oshie on the team the Canucks are in trouble tomorrow night. Round one, amazing.
If you live south of St. Louis or anywhere in the state, you have no excuse....what other phenomenal NHL team is anywhere near you? that's right. None.
So throw a party this weekend but make sure the games are on nearby. Its going to be a hell of a post season. So what if the water is a little chilly, don't be a wuss. You'll be yelling and whooping it up for the hockey game you won't even notice.

Go Blues!

Perfect Timing!

This being Easter weekend, and the end of Passover is a PERFECT time for families to pack it up and head to the lake for some nice spring weather! Honestly my favorite place to go for relaxation and fun for the family is Bull Shoals Lake
their resorts are great, the lake is clear, boating is easy and not congested- and the fishing is great!
If not this weekend, as the weather gets nicer, you should really head down.

I'm going to figure out if I can get down there today!

What To Do?

While Southwestern Missouri may not be the first vacation spot that comes to mind, it should not be overlooked. If you like lakes, boating, fishing, tanning and the charm of small towns, then any of the Ozark Lakes are right for you! Imagine the ideal lake vacation on lakes with minimal pollution and crowds. My favorite lake in the area (so far) is Bull Shoals Lake.

The lake itself is beautiful and the lodging available for guests is plenty. If you wanted to rent and stay in your own cabin, or stay in a more bed and breakfast type home- both are available. This information and information about Pontiac Cove Marina were found on the Missouri lake resorts website I've been using for preliminary research into the area. The site is great too because in addition to information about where to stay, and marinas, they give fishing and weather reports for the area.

Class Project (!)

Well, most recently for one of my classes I was told to research an area of a state with small scale but popular resorts. Since I am originally from Missouri (St. Louis) I was thinking the Lake of the Ozarks (L.O.O), but that lake is so crowded so I looked into others. In the Missouri Ozarks there are a ton of other lakes besides L.O.O.
Thankfully a bunch of Missouri Lake Resorts were listed online and I could look into the kinds of resorts on various Southwest Missouri Lakes. Makes the research easier.
